for the Administration of the Final Written Test Examination

  • 1

The Regulations for the Administration of the Final Written Test Examination define the procedures and rules for conducting the test examination in the subject of Periodontology and Oral Mucosal Diseases for students who have completed the 10th semester of studies in the Dentistry program at the Faculty of Medical Dentistry of the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice.

  1. The Test Examination is administered in a written multiple-choice format based on the study program. It is organized by a team of staff members from the Department of Periodontal and Mucosal Diseases of the Medical University of Silesia.
  2. A commission chaired by the department head supervises the proper conduct of the examination.
  • 3

Persons taking the examination are required to comply with the instructions of the Commission members.

  • 4

The test examination consists of 60 questions. Each question has five answer options, only one of which is correct. One point is awarded for selecting the correct answer. Selecting two or more answers or leaving the question unanswered results in zero points.

  • 5

On the day of the test examination, the Commission delivers the prepared test materials to the examination site.

The examination results are available at the secretariat and the department’s office. The results are announced by examination card number. Examination results will not be provided by phone. They may be sent to the class representative in a file. The grading scale follows the Study Regulations of the Medical University of Silesia (a minimum of 70% correct answers is required to pass).

  • 8

Upon entering the examination room, the Commission members verify each examinee's identity using an identity document.

Commission members distribute one copy of the test to each examinee.

  • 9

The duration of the test examination is determined based on the number of questions — 1 minute per question.

The test must be solved independently. Communicating with others or using unauthorized materials may interrupt the examination and disqualify the examinee.

During the test, you are forbidden to possess any electronic devices: mobile phones, watches, cameras, headphones, etc. (any devices used for communication). If an examinee is found with such a device (even if switched off), the exam will be terminated for that individual, and the case will be referred to the Disciplinary Committee.

The test examination should take place in an atmosphere of academic integrity and seriousness.

  • 10

During the test examination, examinees are not allowed to leave the room.

In exceptional cases, an examinee may leave the room with the Commission’s permission, under the supervision of a Commission member. Before leaving, the examinee must deposit the test booklet and answer sheet with the Chair of the Commission.

  • 11

If printing or substantive errors are found, the examinee has the right to submit a written objection to the Chair of the Commission.

The objection must be submitted using the objection form.

The Chair records the objection in the examination protocol.

Objections will be reviewed by the Commission after the test and before the results are calculated.

The Commission will decide whether to accept or reject each objection and will provide a written justification on the submitted objection form.

  • 12

After the allocated time for the test has elapsed, the Chair of the Commission announces the end of the examination.

After the end of the examination is announced, examinees place their test booklets and answer sheets aside. They must then remain seated until all booklets and answer sheets have been collected by the Commission members, after which they may leave the room.
